Our History

The WRI may have started when Thomas' and Lance' parents bought a set of encyclopedias for their children, kids who already had regular church attendance and service through the Boy Scouts program as a foundation. In late 1997 and early 1998, while at BYU, Thomas Weaver began making some incredible discoveries in archaeology. As he considered the significance of these findings and tried to learn what to do with them he was propelled into an adventure that would eventually shape his life and career. In 2001, as Lance Weaver helped Thomas with a few geologic conundrums, he too stumbled upon a series of scientific breakthroughs that could not be set aside. Over the years they continued to play off one another as they discussed how to use their gifts as a springboard to helping others.

From these discussions and other experiences Thomas and Lance conceived the need to teach others the process they had developed of Scriptural Science and to use this knowledge to build stronger families and neighborhoods into what they call Zion Communities. In late 2005 and early 2006 they began setting up the WRI in St. George, Utah and built their first websites. In late 2007 and early 2008 a board was selected and it became an official 501(c)(3). Though the organization is still very small, we hope we have developed a few tools that can be a blessing to you and your family. We hope you might consider making a donation to aid in the development of new tools to help others.
